Carmels Research Institute is an international research institute located in Dakar, Senegal. It involves three departments: The Department of Economics and Entrepreneurship, the Department of Engineering and the Center of Advanced Computations.
The department of Economics and Entrepreneurship is in charge of research and studies in the fields of economical policy, econometry, business strategy and for providing supports and key data to companies (specially economical environment data).
The department of Engineering performs research in the fields of Energy, Water supply, Sanitation, and Agriculture.
The Center of Advanced Computations is specialized in modelling and simulations. Its research activities are presently focused on Computational Optimization in Process heating, Disease Modelling, Groundwater modelling, Econometrical modelling and Artificial intelligence.
This institute is founded in 2017 and led by Dr. Eng. Mamadou Alouma Diallo member of the London Mathematical Society and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (A.S.M.E.)
The new context of covid19 pandemic, has led to new and extremely challenging paradigm especially for poor countries. As result, our approach is to use science, innovation, interdisciplinary research, political engagement and entrepreneurship for addressing key development issues. For this goal, the institute will make strong partnerships mainly with governments, communities and research organisms throughout the world in order to help advance research in Science, Engineering, Economics, Business etc for a better resilience of developping countries with respect to this new context.
